VIVA MILK CONTAINS IRIS MILK – PURITY – RADIANCE
Native to Mediterranean regions (Tuscany, Morocco, France), iris is a perennial rhizome plant (underground stem) from the Iridaceae family. The term “iris” means “rainbow” in ancient Greek, due to the singular beauty of this flower: a white colour with slight bluish reflections. The first uses of the iris were medicinal. In Greece, the plant was used in at least 41 medications: it was used to treat snakebites and scorpion stings, as well as stomach aches, intestinal pain, coughs, etc. In the 18th century, it was used to heal skin conditions. Highly appreciated in perfumery, iris rhizome diffuses a delicious violet fragrance. The absolute that is extracted from it is one of the most expensive in the world: it takes no less than 500 kg of dried rhizomes to obtain 1.5 kg of essence

Iris milk is particularly adapted to oil-prone combination skin. It has a high amount of tannins and xanthones, which give it astringent and purifying properties. It treats small skin imperfections (whiteheads, blackheads, enlarged pores).

Its rich sugar content (starch, mucilage) helps it hydrate and soften the skin. It provides a soothing and calming effect on sensitized skin.
